Mississippi Spay and Neuter (MS SPAN), in conjunction with Animal Advocacy Initiative of Mississippi (AAIM), are beginning a series of free workshops around the state to meet local animal welfare organizations, municipalities and county leaders. We are starting in Northeast Mississippi and holding two workshops in Tupelo on December 5, 2018 at the Hampton Inn and Suites.
The purpose of the workshops are informational and educational for the participants, as well as informational to both AAIM and MS SPAN on how we can better serve your needs. Programming will include a workshop targeted towards Municipalities, Counties, and other interested parties, which include discussions on animal regulations and ordinances, animal control, spay neuter, and an animal cruelty update on pending legislation. The workshop will be from 9:00 to 11:00 with lunch beginning at 11:30.
The second workshop will be targeted for animal shelters, rescues, animal control personnel, and other interested parties. Discussion topics will include exploring partnerships with other organizations to strengthen shelter/rescue operations, animal control from a sheltering perspective, spay and neuter, and updates on pending animal cruelty legislation. This workshop will run from 1:00-3:00, with lunch beginning at 11:30 to promote discussion between workshop participants.
AAIM and MS SPAN hope that both workshops will inspire meaningful discussion and education so that we can better facilitate solutions to problems faced by all groups who practice in the animal welfare arena. We hope you are able to join us for the targeted workshops and lunch, to encourage the broadest possible echange of ideas on the many common issues we face. You are encouraged to attend both workshops if time permits.
The program and lunch are free, and are being provided by MS SPAN. The agenda can be found here.
