Senate Dog & Cat Cruelty Bill dies in committee

Senator Hill's dog and cat protection bill was not brought up during the Agriculture Committee's meeting this year, which means it will not make it to the Senate floor for a vote.

Please call Agriculture Committee Chair Senator Billy Hudson and Lieutenant Governor Tate Reeves to respectfully express your disappointment.

Senator Hudson: (601) 359-2395 or  (601)466-3573

Hello, my name is __________ from ________. I am a (profession). I firmly support Senator Hill's Dog and Cat Protection Bill, SB 2172, and am disappointed that it was both assigned to the Agriculture Committee and that it was not brought up in committee for a vote. A vast majority of Mississippian's believe that the protection of animals is vital to the health and safety of our communities and necessary in attracting new citizens and businesses to our state. Our current law does not provide adequate protection of animals and does not protect Mississippian's from violent criminals. I can be reached at _________. Thank you for your time.
